Hello little birdy…What am I going to do with you?

I started using Twitter several months ago when I was doing some research for a friends’ company who was trying to get into the fun of social marketing. I sort of observed for a while, but slowly realized that I liked lurking and talking in the 140. And, then I made the mistake or posting a Facebook status that I was having fun on twitter. Bad move.

And then I got the whiplash. I got a follow from my mother (who is my friend on Facebook). She does not “participate” in the big twitter conversation, but simply monitors my updates. And, while most (all) of my twits are boring and/or related to midcentury modern architecture, I got an unsolicited comment on all of my twits. I LOVE my mother. I LOVE her more than the world. But, it’s like having her in every single conversation listening. (No, I don’t have many “in real life” conversations because I just moved back to Colorado, so I actually use my twitter and blog conversations for my social outlet).

I really need a little corner of the world where I can be uncensored and free to say whatever I want without my mom commenting. I’m actually close to my mom and I even tell her 99% of everything, but usually after I have a while to stew on something.

And, my mom and I have a “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy when it comes to my son. My mom lives in the south (where I’m from) and I live in Colorado near my husband’s family. She doesn’t want to hear about anything we do with his family (especially my son). She knows we hang with them, but she doesn’t want to know. Which means that I have to not mention about 25% of my life. Which is sort of hard to edit from my motormouth and my twitter and blog updates.

So, I need my little corner of the world where I am not going to accidentally over share. But, how do I tell the people I follow and the people that follow me that I’m under another ID without my mom knowing (who also gets an email or text every single time I post)?

Help! Okay, I know that not one soul in the world knows I’m here on this blog, but I still wanted to type that.
